About me

Hello,

This is Bonnie YU, currently a year 3 journalism student studying at Hong Kong Baptist University. I came from the coldest and most northern province of mainland China, Hei Longjiang Province, so I was born to be familiar with coldness and snow, as shown in my featured photo above:)

I enjoy my life as I want to live the best version of myself. I regard myself as an extremely enthusiastic girl as I am always curious about the new and aesthetic staffs around. And I set up this website to record and share my life with you.

I am keen on eating as food is the symbol of different culture and regions. And when I am stressed out, food is what accompanies me forever. I enjoy sharing good food and restaurants with my friends. Since I am appreciated for the good recommendations and cooking all the time, being a food blogger seems a suitable career option for me.

I also like traveling as I can be exposed to various sceneries, culture, food and personal stories of the people I meet on the way. Till now I have traveled to Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea, Russia and a list of provinces in mainland China. What traveling brought me is not only the memory of the scenes but also the relaxation and happiness. And that’s what support me to get through the tough time.

Photography is my third hobby and I do dream of starting my career life with being a photojournalist. Fixing the beauty, the emotion and the sense of ritual through photos is unbelievably amazing. And personally, I got inspired by the photos more often than words. And I post some photos here for reference.

I own millions of hobbies as I am interested in the new thing appearing constantly. The world is changing fast so I force myself to catch with it. I believe in lifelong learning so I kept absorbing new knowledge through different channels. I attended online workshop to learn about online new media management. I analyzed popular brands to conclude the branding strategies. And I study different software under the online instruction not only for work but also for self-growing.

And from the past year, I started to be specialized in data journalism. Learning programming from zero won’t be an effortless journey but I still feel excited and expectant about it.  Since we live in the information age, data journalism could facilitate me with more information and communication technology hard skills. And to unceasingly get out of my comfort zone is permanently what I pursue.

Wish myself to be a qualified student journalist with efforts.

And wish myself to be humble, hungry, curious and beloved forever.

Cheers,

Bonnie
